How Is Complete Edentulism Treated?
Treatment options in complete edentulism are divided into 3 sections:

- Removable prostheses prepared with implants
- Removable total prostheses that are made without the use of any implant, that is, the patient can put on and take off on his own.
Among these, total prostheses prepared without the use of implants are the most difficult for the patient.
Some conditions must be fulfilled for these treatments to be applied:
- Not much time should pass after tooth extraction
- The jawbone must not fuse.

At least 5 implants are placed, but this number varies according to the patient's systemic condition and bone level. The type of prosthesis is determined according to the number of implants. While 2-4 implants are used for removable prostheses, 5 or more implants should be placed for fixed prostheses.
